Hello! I'm Ann Marie-

A little about me
I am a painter of abstracts, mountain landscapes, quirky florals and have recently begun creating works of fiber art. Northern Colorado is home, where the Rocky Mountains provide adventure and endless inspiration.
Creating art is my soul energy, my peace and calm. I mostly create my paintings with a mix of acrylic and other water based paints and incorporate vintage soft pastels I've collected over the years. I joke that I own more art supplies than any other type items you'd find in my home.
Mountains are my soul’s comfort, my place of healing. Mother Nature in all her glory has always offered me solace, wonder, curiosity and inspiration. Being in nature makes me question my existence, and that of all living creatures. I believe nature holds the answers to our most important life questions.
I begin each artwork from a place of color first, with line and shape coming second, then back to color to finish. Different styles and series evolve as I test ideas in my art journal, often during the very early hours of the morning.
i create art because i simply must do so. there is no other way of living for me.

Life outside the studio-
Outside the studio you will find me hiking mountain trails with friends and my pups. I am a mom to one grown son. He is definitely my greatest creation! I love where I live and spend as much time in nature as possible. I am fascinated with animals of all types and consider myself a bit of a nature geek. I am an introvert who can pass as an extrovert. My favorite decades are the 60’s and 70’- the fashion, interior design and the music. I’m a bit of a restless soul, so exploring new places, going on adventures and trying my hand at different art mediums occupy a good bit of my “free time”. Oh yeah, and I’m a Virgo.
